The Theory of Value Management as an Extension of Economic Science

The Theory of Value Management as an Extension of Economic Science

I have decided to clearly separate the concepts of The Theory of Value Management and Æilus.

Æilus is a framework that implements the Theory of Value Management. It provides practical applicability and includes automation tools such as VSS (Value System Schema). However, Æilus itself is not the theory.

The Theory of Value Management, as a field of knowledge, makes the following core assertions:

  1. Value exists.
  2. Value always exists within a value system.
  3. Organizations contain multiple value systems.
  4. These value systems interact.
  5. Their interactions generate both value and anti-value.
  6. Formalization is required in order to:
    • represent value systems,
    • model their interactions,
    • aggregate and compare value.

The Theory of Value Management is, by itself, a body of scientific knowledge. Its development is currently driven by the evolution of Æilus as one possible formalization of the theory.

A dedicated section, Theory of Value Management, is now available on the website: https://aeilus.tech/theory-of-value-management/
